Trevor Bauer (Yokohama Dena Baystars), the “nerd” who made it to Nippon Professional Baseball, is encouraging fans to vote for him in the “Plus One” ballot so he can play in the All-Star Game.
Players for the Nippon Professional Baseball All-Star Game were selected by fan voting for the best lineup, followed by player-to-player voting and manager recommendations. Bauer didn’t make the cut in either the fan vote, player-to-player vote, or manager’s picks.
One last chance. One final player will be selected for the All-Star Game in a “plus one” fan vote. Voting for the “Plus One” ballot began on June 6. Bauer took to social media on Saturday to ask fans to vote for him in both English and Japanese.
“If you give me 30 seconds every day to vote for me, I’ll release the best 30-minute vlog of all time,” Bauer said, showing his eagerness to play in the All-Star Game 꽁머니.
Bauer, who signed with Yokohama before the season, is 5-2 with a 3.77 ERA in nine games. He has six consecutive quality starts.
Bauer was a member of the 2018 All-Star Game when he played in the Major Leagues. It will be interesting to see if he can make it to the Nippon Professional Baseball All-Star Game after the major leagues.
The Nippon Professional Baseball All-Star Game will take place on April 19 at the Nagoya Banterin Dome and on April 20 at the Mazda Zoom Zoom Stadium.
