Tottenham Hotspur arrived in Perth, Australia, on Saturday (Aug. 16) for their Asia-Pacific pre-season tour. The 31-man squad is preparing for their first season under head coach Enze Postecoglou.

Tottenham’s squad includes Son Heung-min and Harry Kane, as well as Guglielmo Vicario, James Maddison and Manor Solomon. Returning loan players will also join the tour. Destiny Udoji, Sergio Reguillon, and Tanguy Ndombele will be preparing for the new season together.

However, there is one player who was very happy to see Son Heung-min. Sarda. The 2002-born midfielder spent his youth career at FC Metz before joining Tottenham in the summer of 2021. He went out on loan shortly afterward and returned last summer.

In other words, he’s only been with the team for a year. Nevertheless, there is a player who is close to him. This is Son Heung-min. The chemistry between the two players has already been revealed to fans in various ways. Tottenham’s official account showed Son taking care of Sarr, while Sarr’s social media videos showed Son pranking him.

It was Son who helped him settle in at Tottenham. In a past interview, he said, “He’s a really nice guy. From the first day we met, we got along well. We have a good friendship. He helps me a lot, gives me advice on and off the pitch. I’m very grateful. He’s one of my favorite people in the team,” he said.

They reunited two months after the season ended. Son Heung-min returned to South Korea the day after the season ended. He arrived home via Incheon International Airport on May 30 and immediately joined the South Korean national soccer team led by Jürgen Klinsmann. He then took a break from the national team schedule and various domestic events.

Tottenham released a photo of Son’s return to the team on the 15th to announce their preparations for the new season, so Sarr was happy to see Son after two months away.

Son will need to be the team’s ace in the hole in the upcoming season. Heung-min made history last season when he scored his seventh consecutive double-digit goal in the English Premier League (EPL) and his 100th EPL goal. This is his eighth consecutive season of double-digit scoring, and he’s on track to add to his career tally.

Saar, on the other hand, will have to fight for a starting spot. Still a promising youngster, Saar played 17 games in all competitions last season, but started just five. He is expected to compete with the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, and Yves Bissouma for a starting spot again this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham will kick off their pre-season campaign with a pre-season friendly against West Ham United at Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia on August 18.
