Draymond Green (33, Golden State Warriors), who stepped on an opponent’s chest, is under intense controversy over his personality.
The Golden State Warriors lost to the Sacramento Kings 106-114 in the 2022-2023 NBA Playoffs Round 1 Game 2 held at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, California on the 18th (Korean time). Golden State, who suffered two consecutive losses, will play its third game in San Francisco on the 21st.
The controversial scene came in the middle of the 4th quarter. Domantas Sabonis fell during a struggle with Green. Green, whose left foot was tangled, stepped on Savonis’ chest with his right foot and passed. Sabonis complained of pain. The referee pointed out the Flagnant 2 foul on Green and immediately ordered him to leave. Sabonis also received a technical foul.
Green was criticized for unprofessional behavior, such as arguing with Kings home fans during the game. He even mocked the referee. Officials came forward and managed to calm the excited fans, but Green’s mouth did not rest.
In the 2016 playoffs, Green was also punished for striking the heart of Oklahoma City center Steven Adams.
Savonis was X-rayed and found nothing wrong with his ribs. He will be tested again ahead of Game 3.
At the press conference after the game, Green said, “My legs were caught two days in a row. The referee was just watching. I also needed a place to put my feet. I’m not that flexible. My legs don’t stretch that much. Someone was holding my legs, so I had no choice but to step (on my chest).”
As for why Sabonis grabbed Green’s foot, he said, “I was trying to protect myself at the moment of the fall and an accident occurred. There was not enough space,” he explained. /스포츠토토
