That’s what Kiwoom Heroes head coach Hong Won-ki said after the blowout win.
Hong’s Kiwoom cruised to a 13-0 victory over the LG Twins in their 2023 KBO Baseball League home game at the Gocheok SkyDome in Guro-gu, Seoul on Monday. With the win, Kiwoom, which finished its three-game midweek series with one win, one draw, and one loss, improved its record to 23 wins, one draw, and 33 points.
The game was highlighted by the bats, which exploded for 20 hits and 13 runs. The 20 hits were Kiwoom’s most in a single game this season, surpassing his previous high of 18 against the Hanwha Eagles.
It was also the second time this year that Kiwoom’s entire starting lineup produced hits, the 12th time this season in the KBO and the 1057th time in his career.
Lee Jung-hoo, who went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs, including the game-winning hit, became the 110th player in the KBO to reach 500 career RBIs. It was especially meaningful for Lee to reach the milestone at the third-youngest age (24 years, 9 months, 19 days) after Lee Seung-yeop of the Doosan Bears (23 years, 8 months, 1 day) and Kim Ha-seong (24 years, 8 months, 14 days-San Diego Padres).
After the game, Kiwoom head coach Hong Won-ki said, “In the first inning, Lee Jung-hoo hit a two-RBI double to spark the team’s bats. In the fourth inning, Kim Soo-hwan drove in another run to seal the game,” he said.
Starting pitcher Choi Won-tae also shined, throwing seven innings of five-hit ball, two walks and seven strikeouts on 94 pitches to improve to 4-3 on the season 먹튀검증.
